Chemical Testing (Water)
St. Peter's Hospital Laboratory is a certified testing laboratory for bacteriological and chemical testing of drinking water, nonpotable water and wastewater. St. Peter's Hospital Laboratory has been providing laboratory services to the community as a not-for-profit institution since the late 1800s. The testing of bacteria in water has been provided since the turn of the century and chemical testing began in the 1950s. As St. Peter's Hospital Laboratory, we are pledged to continue this tradition of excellence and service to the community. We are continually improving and updating our technology and processes.
Our testing complies with the requirements set by counties, the NYS Department of Health (DOH), the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, and the US Environmental Protection Agency. Using a wide range of laboratory instrumentation that includes two atomic absorption spectrophotometers, a gas chromatograph/mass spectrophotometer, various analyzers and spectrophotometers, we meet the highest standards of accuracy and quality assurance.
Procedures are in accordance with current editions of Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater, the EPA's methods for Chemical Analysis of Water and Wastes, EPA Test Methods for Evaluating Solid Waste, and NYSDOH Approved Test Procedures for Drinking Water and Wastewater. NIST traceable external control standards, in-house QC samples, sample replicates and spike recovery techniques are used to ensure optimum quality of the test results.
Results are provided with quick turn-around times. We include an interpretation of the results and list acceptable ranges. If necessary, recommendations for treatment are included.
We offer individual testing or as a group of related analyses. Group testing and quantity testing can prove more economical. A price list is available. Feel free to discuss your needs with us.
