Outpatient Rehabilitation

Outpatient Clinic Services

SPARC outpatient clinics provide care for persons and families experiencing drug and alcohol problems. We also include complicating medical, psychiatric, family and other issues in our treatment processes. Direct assessment and admissions are available at each site.

SPARC operates six outpatient facilities in Albany, Schenectady and Saratoga counties. Among the Albany County locations, SPARC operates a 22-bed Men's Community Residence, Albany, NY.

For patients younger than age 18, treatment and services for adolescents are available at four outpatient locations.

SPARC's outpatient services include:

  • spirituality and 12-step meetings
  • relapse prevention
  • intensive outpatient trauma/recovery groups
  • MICA intensive outpatient program

Outpatient Facilities

SPARC's outpatient clinic treatment services provide help and guidance so that individuals and families may live a healthy and satisfying lifestyle free of drugs and alcohol. Participants gain physical, emotional and spiritual well-being in a safe and caring setting that promotes positive relationships and personal responsibility.

SPARC operates six outpatient facilities, including four in Albany County; one in Rotterdam in Schenectady County and another in Saratoga Springs, Saratoga County.

Treatment for Adolescents

SPARC offers programs for adolescents (ages 13-18) with alcohol and substance abuse problems. SPARC strives to help these individuals and their families attain a healthy and satisfying life style free of alcohol and drugs. This program addresses the problems adolescents' face with their peers and in their families and school environment.

This program provides a variety of age appropriate therapeutic and educational components. Those who participate in treatment services gain physical, emotional and spiritual well-being in a safe and caring setting that promotes positive relationships and personal responsibility. All treatment services are provided in a tobacco free environment.

Adolescents and their families can access treatment at the SPARC outpatient locations at 636 New Loudon Road, Latham; 125 High Rock Avenue, Saratoga Springs; 55 Mohawk Street, Cohoes; and 2925 Hamburg Street, Schenectady.

Men's Community Residence

SPARC's men's community residence is a 22-bed facility at 64 Second Avenue, Albany.

During an average stay of four-six months, residents participate in a therapeutic addiction treatment at SPARC's outpatient clinics, or other community-based chemical dependency treatment program. For those patients meeting admission criteria, SPARC's men's community residence accepts patients with co-occurring disorders (MICA).

At the men's community residence, patients strive toward independence with a focus on relapse prevention, life skills, housing and vocational/education plan development.

SPARC's men's community residence is funded by the US Social Services Department (Congregate Level 2 Care), Social Security Insurance (SSI)/Disability (SSD) and private pay. Each resident receives food stamps through Albany County. Local applicants for admission must be pre-approved by Albany County's central management unit or equivalent social services departments if residence is outside of Albany County.
