PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency At-A-Glance

The Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency at St. Peter’s Hospital seeks to develop a pharmacist into a highly trained, competent and confident health system pharmacy practitioner. The resident will exhibit commitment to the advancement of the profession while building a solid foundation for further development of advanced clinical pharmacy practice skills.

  • Stipend: $48,000.00

    • Internal Medicine/Family Practice

  • Required Longitudinal Learning Experiences:
    • Pharmacy Practice Management
    • Residency Research Project
    • Staffing - Inpatient Pharmacy (one half-shift per week and one weekend per month)
    • Teaching and Learning Program (Affiliated with Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences)
  • Electives (2 Required)
    • Oncology (Outpatient Infusion Center)
    • Pharmacy Administration
    • Rheumatology (Ambulatory, off-site)
    • Pharmacy Practice Improvement
  • Required Competencies:
    • Pharmacy Calculations Assessment*
    • Sterile and Non-sterile Compounding Assessment*
    • Errors and Omissions, Look-alike, Sound-alike Medications and Medication Safety Assessment*
    • Order Entry/Inpatient Prescription Processing Assessment*

*Note: This series of competencies can be used to satisfy the Part III Exam requirements (Form 4b) of NYS licensure.
